ION Restaurant

It's Only Natural, lovingly referred to as ION, has served Connecticut diners for more than 30 years. Initially a humble sandwich counter in the North end, ION has organically grown into a vegan oasis.

It's Only Natural has been voted "Best Vegetarian Restaurant" in the Hartford Advocate's readers poll since 1992. The entire menu is prepared on site using the best available ingredients. We have a large selection of organic beer and wine, and a diverse menu, both of which are updated frequently to take advantage of what's local and exciting.

ION is also an art gallery, displaying the works of Connecticut artists. From paintings to duct tape wallets, ION's collection provides an interesting environment in which to enjoy a meal as well as an opportunity for local artists to sell their work. The deck, which doubles as an herb garden, is adorned with the work of Ted Esselstyn, of Kidcity fame.

Awarding winning Chef Mark Shadle and his business partner, designer Renana Magee, have created a uniquely relaxing, healthy and fun culinary retreat. Come experience it for yourself 7 days a week 11 am to 9 pm.
