The one who got away.

carrot

It’s a sad day for ION.  One of the greats has left us, and we’re in mourning.   Join us as we say goodbye to Erica and wish her the best.   She’s apparently gone to Georgia to become a doctor of some sort. Which I guess is ok.

We’ll miss that face.  And everything attached to it.

Erica’s been with ION since she was 18, which is very old in cat years, but not so old in this case.  She started off as a hostess, and over the past four years, she’s moved up the ranks to achieve a serving position.  Well done my tiny dancer.

She liked working at ION for the healthy food, but also because it’s a place that shares the same beliefs as her, both aesthetically and spiritually.  And sexually.  She might work at a new restaurant while she’s at school in Georgia, but we’ll always be her first.  And your first is always your best.  We hope they enjoy ION’s leftovers.

Erica walking away, towards peaches.  Life imitating art?

In addition to being adorable, like all short people magically are, Erica has the unique ability to say and do semi-outrageous things while making you feel like the weird one.   She could walk around backwards and make you think, “wait….have I been doing this wrong?”  We’ll try to keep up the socially questionable behavior in her absence.

Erica’s departure leaves us with literally tiny, but metaphorically gigantic, shoes to fill.  She is an incredibly intelligent, hilarious, unique individual.  She wasn’t just a token Asian.  She was OUR token Asian.  And we’re really going to miss her.
